Psalm 57:2 – I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.

Have you ever wondered why God allows our lives to be overwhelmed with certain problems,

pressures, and pain? This is the question behind our prayer today.

David lifted his heart to God, “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms “destruction pass by” (Psalm 57:1).

David is offering a heart cry to God to reveal to him how his personal difficulties can be used

to fulfill God’s divine purposes. He is begging God to show him how to see God at work even as the storms of life rage against him.

Do you ever feel that way?

The great devotional writer Oswald Chambers wrote, “I have to learn that the aim of my life is God’s, not mine. God is using me from His great

personal standpoint and all he asks of me is that I trust Him.
